The City of Dalton currently has openings for the position of firefighter with the City of Dalton Fire Department. Candidates must live within 40 miles of Station #1 located at 404 School Street, Dalton, GA 30720 according to Google Maps. Those who do not meet this mileage requirement must relocate within 12 months of hire date. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with college preferred. Applicants must pass the Candidate Physical Agility Test as required by Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (as amended by Dalton Fire Department). Applicants must complete all requirements set forth by Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council for a Georgia certified firefighter by the conclusion of recruit school. Starting base pay is approximately $56,500 annually, not including eligible overtime. A City of Dalton employment application must be completed and received by Human Resources before the job closing date of August 15, 2025.
